Tote Bag + Gingerbread Lane + Camp Snoopy

One more homemade gift complete! This tote bag was fun to make. I chose fabrics I thought would please the person receiving it...and included pockets at her request. I follow this tutorial from ps i quilt when I make this type of quilted tote bag. I just adjust the sizing as needed. I have been trying to catch up with my cross stitch project from the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery: Christmas on Gingerbread Lane. Since it is December, I also am working on this last month's design in the Woodland Sampler. It has been so fun to work on this all through this year! I stopped at the local quilt shop Monday for supplies for one of my homemade gifts. I noticed Snoopy fabric! I have loved Snoopy ever since I was little, my own Maman loves Snoopy! I had to take a little bit of this Camp Snoopy fabric home. I have started designing a picnic quilt. This will be fun to work on after the holidays! We have decorated the tree and started reading a few Christmas storie

PEI Wildflowers :: Orange

These orange wildflowers caught my eye while we were on a trail in Cavendish. The clusters of orange flowers really stood out in the middle of the green field. They are called Devil's Paintbrush or Orange Hawkweed. I thought the shape of the petals were interesting too. The field guide says they are found all over the province.

oTENTik at Cavendish, PEI National Park

Last night, a friend and I visited the Cavendish campground at the PEI National Park for an open house hosted by PEI National Park showcasing the new oTENTik tents. oTENTik Tents are a great idea and different option available for accommodations, a cross between a small cabin and a large tent! There are now six oTENTik tents available at the PEI National Park, Cavendish location. These are spacious and six people can sleep in one. The beds are off the floor, on a wooden platform and include mattresses. There is a table with four chairs and a bench, as well as a wood stove inside for cool nights. The sides and roof of the oTENTik tents are like a strong regular tent material, but the floor is off the ground and looks like a wood floor. I thought these were a great idea for a different camping option. I imagine that you would still get the feeling of camping, but with a bit more cozy accommodations!
